These women enjoy writing stories, make broadcasts, use social media, and more. What is a multimedia journalist?

Multimedia journalists gather information, write stories, make broadcasts and use social media to keep the public informed about current affairs and events that are happening in the world. The best definition of multimedia journalism is the process of combining text, images, sound, videos and graphics, to tell an interesting story. Multimedia journalists often work for newspapers, radio or television stations or use computers in social media areas. They sample animations, data, video, graphics and audio in multimedia. Multimedia journalism is used extensively in almost all fields today. Multimedia journalists read documents, observe events and interview people. They take notes, tape interviews and verify information about stories they are working on. They often use video cameras, sound systems and editing equipment to broadcast their thinking on specific stories which are in the news or are part of a specific story they are working on. They sometimes solicit public comment through the use of social media like Twitter or Facebook. Sometimes multimedia journalists specialize in one area, for example local news, world news, sports or weather. They may also specialize in one area of work: for example, they may work for a television station and direct their energy to this job. There are many avenues that a multimedia journalist could take to work on the craft. Regardless of the specific job area, multimedia journalists job is to inform the public through well-scripted stories or to seek the pulse of the people through social media.

Delta's View radio show and our other shows, such as  (Debra Hemmer's "A Brighter Day" Show) have included special guests such as:

The awesome Maestro Jaffe with the Stockton Symphony  now has his own radio "Symphony Mix" on 93.5 FM. He was a guest on Debra's "A Brighter Day" talk show.  I sang for one of his concerts "Requiem." The choirs got a standing ovation.

Elizabeth Manske, producer of "The Hungry Bookworm" show with Pearlette Reed during the KWDC 93.5 Delta's View radio show.

Crystal Page and Theresa Velazquez at the KWDC/Multi-Media Festival 2015. Crystal's relative was one of the sponsors , and delivered food from the Breadfruit Tree restaurant.

I support and train Gaby Muro in the Miss San Joaquin Beauty and Talent Pageant. She is learning a lyrical dance I choreographed for her, and her platform is helping people with epilepsy. Help support these young women making a difference in their communities. I make sure to tell Stockton listeners while on the radio show.

That's me, Theresa Velazquez, on the day of the 2012 Elections with Astronaut, Jose Hernandez.  I ran for Council woman, and he ran for Congressman. He was also on "A Brighter Day" show.

Join me at the Desert Challenge Dancesport Intercollegiate competitions on April 22 & 23, 2016 held in Las Vegas. I will be judging the event. This competition celebrates the memory of a friend and coworker, Donna Medrano, founder (click above).
